MUSIC UNCENSORED PRESENTS…
TYRON by slowthai
British rapper Tyron Frampton, otherwise known as, slowthai, is the first album review featuring on my blog! I’ve been a fan of his for about a year now after first hearing his smash hit ‘T N Biscutits’ trending on TikTok. So I thought it only right to review his second album ‘TYRON’.

45 SMOKE
Starting off strong, this will definitely be in my top three for this album. As soon as I heard it was I was up and energised; it really did start with a bang! The mix of harcore rapping, attitude and harsh tone to his style was just the perfect mix for the first song. I LOVE!

CANCELLED (FEAT. SKEPTA)
This very catchy was released as a single, which features well-known grime artist, Skepta. This collab is definitely needed again as the pairs lyrics and vibes just flow too good. Simple review as it was just effortlessly filled with talent.
RATING 7/10
MAZZA (FEAT. A$AP ROCKY)
The first time I listened to this single I instantly was huge fan of it so catch me always singing the chorus non stop. I also didn’t realise how deep the lyrics actually were, so definitely have a proper listen to what slowthai and ASAP Rocky rap about. The only downside I’d say is that, personally, I kind of felt like ASAP’s part was bit too long but I still enjoyed it without wanting to skip it.

VEX
This was another song that had a few references to drugs and built up anger towards his life which made me realise so far that the lyrics for his songs are very much a contrast to the actual song because they're so upbeat. But I like it because at least you can still get hyped to a song without it feeling sad because of the lyrics. However, this song wasn’t my favourite so I probably wouldn’t have it on repeat.
RATING: 6/10
WOT
I didn't really have too much of an opinion for this short song, it was more of a interlude type song as it was very short, but it was still a vibe.
RATING: 6/10
DEAD
To be honest, I wasn't really a fan of this so highly likely I would skip it if it came on. Personally, there wasn't really anything that appealed to me in this song and I just feel like it wasn't as good as it could've potentially been.
RATING: 4/10
PLAY WITH FIRE
I really did appreciate the transition from 'DEAD' to this song but I won't lie it isn't my favourite to listen to but I can acknowledge how good it is. I did really love the outro of the song because it did feel like more of my style of spoken word type style of rapping.

YES! This could definitely be one of my favourites on the album. It really felt like old slowthai which I really loved, and yet again I really got to know him and his struggles. This was amazing and I loved the singing too. The first song for disc 2 started off so great.
RATING: 8.5/10
focus
Another deep and personal song which was really intriguing to listen to and it just makes you understand his life a lot more. I really liked the tone and music behind this song but I feel like it had similar vibes to the previous song so I didn't prefer it.

terms (feat. Dominic Fike & Denzel Curry)
I was so excited to hear a Dominic Fike and slowthai collab; I definitely needed this one! I also recently discovered Denzel Curry during the first lockdown so yes to this. I think slowthai could’ve been more chilled especially in comparison to Dominic's parts. I very much get feelings that they’re talking about constant opinions from society and coming to terms with their lifestyle and not being able to change viewpoints of how they're portrayed, so this was a very eye-opening song.
RATING: 8/10
push (feat. Deb Never)
Didn't expect the start to this song but I did actually enjoy it. It was a very peaceful and settling song and I'm glad that he kept the same rapping pace with the beat and the song; instead of going faster. I wasn't entirely a fan of the chorus because I didn't feel like it fit in but I did enjoy how solemnly it ended.

To be fair when I first head this I was really against it but since I've listened to it again, weirdly I am in love with it. It just sounds so sick and it just fits in perfectly with the album too. The lyrics, the flow, and the music was just all blended so well together. Plus, the chorus was also very catchy, very meaningful but unusually appreciated. It really did make me think about life, the injustices of our society and understand that there's two sides to life and stories.
RATING: 9/10
feel away (feat. James Blake & Mount Kimbie)
I definitely preferred the chorus compared to the verses of slowthai's parts but I loved James' singing; it was beautiful. Surprisingly, I wouldn't put the two voices together but I think it made the song ten times more better.

adhd
This was another song of slowthai opening up which I love and the sound was very mellow and a deep way to end the album. The phone call during it also made, not only the song but the album, that much more sentimental. The switch up from slow to fast pace was needed to make sure the listeners still felt excited and pumped up from it so creds to that. I actually enjoyed how abruptly it ended too, it was unexpected but somewhat astounding.
TYRON was a real blast to listen to and I really did experience a real mix of emotions and feelings towards each song. It was passionate and thrilling, so definitely one to recommend to a friend.
Although I wish there was a bit more versatility in disc 1 in terms of lyrics and vibes, the whole album really did feel like an explosion of frustrations shown throughout so I'd say it was an incredible thirty minutes of music.
