WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?

- Billie Eilish

!!!!

weird but amusing very short start, I enjoyed it to be honest.

bad guy

I definitely think this song has been overplayed but at the same time it’s not a song that I’ve gotten bored of. Usually songs that become radio songs, I normally eventually dislike but this is an exception for sure. So, I do still really like it and it's such a vibe with all the different creative elements that doesn’t, surprisingly, over shadow the song as a whole.

RATING: 7.5/10

xanny

100% listen with headphones, this song is extremely addictive. The transition from soft style to heavy vibrations was a great combination. The drums and beat drops are just everything.

RATING: 9/10

you should see me in a crown

This is such a vibe, if you don’t feel like getting up and head banging to the whole way though then you’re not listening right. The build up to all the chorus’s just make you feel like you’re witnessing this live and I just enjoy listening to it so much.

RATING:8.5/10

all the good girls go to hell

Don’t get me wrong, this song is amazing but there’s just something about it that wouldn’t make me want to put it on all the time. I think its such a mix of kind of being medium paced/fast paced so it's like do I get up and jump to it or just sit there and vibe. But either way when I choose to put it on, I love it. Did really love the ending though!

RATING: 7/10

wish you were gay

This was a literal masterpiece from start to end. Including the numbers counting down throughout the lyrics was a very creative masterpiece, and she did it TWICE. This song is beautiful and I think so many people could relate to the feelings she experiences in this song. It’s such simplistic perfection song that I know no one could dislike.

RATING: 10/10

when the party’s over

I think this was the first song I ever heard from Billie and my music taste was never great back then so I was always so unsure whether I liked it or not but it’s a beautiful song; no one can deny that. Literally the lyrics and just the delicate tone of her voice just blends so well together. It’s definitely a song that I couldn’t listen to all the time but I still like it.

RATING: 7/10

8

I remember feeling so unsure about this song for such a long time. I definitely prefer her signing this acapella but if you listen to the lyrics properly then you’ll love it more too. I just think it’s a hit or miss song depending on the person, so I’d probably only listen to this if I was listening to the album all the way through.

RATING: 5/10

my strange addiction

This has always been one of my favourite Billie song’s. I would never describe a song as interesting but somehow it really is. I loved how it started, I loved how strange it sounded and was composed too.

RATING: 9.5/10

bury a friend

this song is so catchy, dark yet vibey. I love how she's singing about scary things and nightmares because she's almost whispering whilst she's singing too which is very cool. Each song she does has so many different creative and unique elements which just adds to how inviting they are. Like the music towards the end of this song is so scary; connecting to the intimidating thoughts she has which just shows how much effort and thought goes into her music.

RATING: 8/10

ilomilo

I’ve always found this similar to ‘8’ and I don’t know why. In my head I think they kind of sound similar, not in lyrics, but in the way it was composed. It not my favourite really because I just don’t really feel anyway towards it so again I would probably only listen to it if I'm listening to the full album. I do really love the end for the song with the staggered, vibrational echoed type style, that was cool.

RATING: 5/10

listen before i go

This song is so effortlessly sad and so beautifully heart-breaking. If you couldn’t listen to her lyrics in any of her previous songs and feel something then this song is the one for capturing a ton of emotions. It basically feels like a heart wrenching goodbye letter to her family and friends, during a incredibly difficult time in her life. This is truly the definition of passionate music. The beat drop and the piano bang was so daunting, like I just felt like I was Billie during this song; a very bittersweet feeling.

RATING: 9/10

i love you

Whereas ‘listen before I go’ was heart-breaking about her own experiences with her own mind, this song was just as sad but more in terms of singing to one specific person who broke her heart. It was another relatable and honest song that needs to be heard. All her emotions were poured out in these two songs and I thinks that’s amazing for her to do.

RATING: 9.5/10

goodbye

What an insane way to end this album. She blended all the songs from the album into one finale of a masterpiece. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone do something like this and I think she’s so talented to think of something like this which is so remarkably different from everyone else.

Overall this album was beautiful and so creative from the lyrics, meanings and instruments. My love for Billie started from listening to these songs so it definitely has a special place in my heart. Her combination of talent and weirdness is an admiration to me and it's so great that she's able to be a role model to so many fans worldwide.

I listened to this all the way through for the first time in so long after watching her new Apple TV documentary, 'The Worlds A Little Blurry', which was so incredible, so 100% give it a watch if you'd want to go behind the scenes of the creation of this album, and witness parts of the start of her extraordinary career.

OVERALL RATING: 9/10
